Sunday Whites

There is a move from a group to bring back the all white dress on Sundays.

In the past, the Sunday dress was usually white.

Right now, some are using the church gatherings on Sundays to show off their fancy dresses and shirts.

NOT again

Fiji’s new national flag will be hoisted on Fiji Day, 10 October 10, 2015.

Now the Leader of the Opposition, Ro Teimumu Kepa, has decided to boycott the committee that will finalise the design of the new flag. She will not name two from the Opposition side for the committee.

What next? The new design will need to be passed in Parliament.

Will the Opposition walk out of Parliament to show their rejection? Aren’t these boycotts and walkouts all becoming a bit tiresome? Mickey Bird flew in to ask.

Chiefs out of village

There are some chiefly title holders who live out of their village.

The chiefly role is carried out by someone acting in the position from the same clan.

Even if the chief lives out of the village the whole of his life, in the iTaukei protocol he or she is still the title holder.

Just recently, someone who was acting called a meeting to ask for their support to the chiefly title, when the title holder returned to the village.

Anchorage fees?

Fishing boats and other vessels in Suva Harbour are polluting the harbour. Some of those out there are really an eyesore to the capital city, especially when it is becoming a tourist city.

The council is trying its best to keep Suva clean and we need to keep Suva Harbour clean too.

So a question from Mickey Bird is what fees are these boats paying to use our harbour?
