Physiotherapists Graduate

T
wenty local physiotherapists received their ‘Train the Trainer’ Level One certificate yesterday.
The graduation marked the end of the three-day 2015 National Sports Medicine Conference aimed to educate and equip the participants with knowledge on sports medicine.
Fiji Physiotherapy Association president Usha Krishna-Gfeller was pleased with the outcome of the conference held at the Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) in Suva.
“The ‘Train the Trainer’ Level One course was conducted by Mark Brown and Maria Constantinou of Sports Medicine Australia,” Krishna-Gfeller said.
“And 20 physiotherapists from all over Fiji graduated and this is important because it’s the first time for this programme to be conducted in Fiji.
“We thank Mark and Maria for their help sharing their expertise and knowledge on sports medicine. We acknowledge all the speakers who gave their time to make presentation to us on a number of relevant topics.
“We’re happy that out of the 28 sports competing at the 2015 Pacific Games, 26 attended the conference. We acknowledge all the sporting organisations that were represented at the conference and congratulations to all the graduates.”
The speakers include Vodafone Fijian 7s coach Ben Ryan and Fiji Football Association national coaching director Juan Carlos Buzzetti.
