Telecom Fijian Warriors coach Senirusi Seruvakula says winning against Samoa A is only option on Wednesday.

The traditional rivals clash in the third round of the World Rugby Pacific Challenge at the ANZ Stadium.

The Samoans are unbeaten from two games while the Fijians lost to the Argentina Pampas XV and recorded a bonus win over Junior Japan last Saturday.

“A must win against Samoa is paramount for the Warriors,”he said.

“We have to win that match if we have a chance to play in the final.

“Samoa’s a great side and they showed that after beating Canada 19-17.

“We have to do the basics right, cut he errors and play for the whole 80 minutes.”

Telecom Fijian Warriors forwards coach Matt Cockbain said maintaining possessions against Samoa would be crucial.

“It will be tough against Samoa A and we have to work hard especially going forward and giving the edge to our fast backline players,”Cockbain said.

“It was an encouraging performance against Junior Japan as the team stuck to the plan pretty well.”

Seruvakula credited the boys for their great effort against Junior Japan but warned they need to put up a good show to beat Samoa A.

“It’s great to win, full credit to the boys as they did what we expected them to do,”he said.

“But we need to step up again on Wednesday and I’ve total faith in the Warriors.”

Games on Wednesday:

1pm: Junior Japan –Tonga A;

3pm: Argentina Pampas XV-Canada A;

5pm: Telecom Fijiana Warriors.
