Nadi Keeper Off To Hekari

Goalkeeper Ben Mateinaqara plays his final match for Jacks Nadi against Labasa in the Rewa Galaxy Premier League match at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, 7.30pm this Saturday.

Nadi Football president Navneeda Gounder confirmed Mateinaqara will team up with Papua New Guinea’s champion side Hekari United FC next week.

“He is definitely going and we wish him all the best.

“He will play for Nadi this Saturday,” Gounder said.

“As usual he is expected to play top match against Labasa. It will be a tough because all the team want to beat us.

He said Mateinaqara would return when the transfer windows re-opens in September to feature for Nadi during the Courts Inter –District Championship.

“There are some people who want to join other districts and we have development players to replace them.”

Gounder said in-form striker Ratu Josevata Dugucagi, who have scored three goals this season, has been released to join Reebok Lautoka.

Nadi FA is awaiting the release of former reps Napolioni Qasevakatini (striker) and defender Poasa Bainivalu.

“We have applied for the two releases from Suva,” he said.

In other matches on Sunday, Nadroga hosts Labasa at Lawaqa Park at 4pm while Ba hosts Rewa at Govind Park at 3pm.

Meanwhile, in the Rewa Galaxy Senior League this Saturday at Ratu Cakobau Park Nasinu takes on Navua 3pm. On Sunday at the FFA Academy Ground, Vatuwaqa, Northland Tailevu takes on Lami 3pm.
