It is likely no overseas players will make the Vodafone Fiji Bati team to play Papua New Guinea on May 2 in Gold Coast, Australia.

Head coach Jo Rabele said this was the right time for our locals to be exposed against regional teams.

“For this trip we want to focus on our local players,”Rabele said.

“I’m going local and we want to prove a point and taking all our local players and see how they perform.”

Selectors picked 25 players during the trials at Albert Park yesterday.

“I’m  very impressed with the performance of the players especially those who came all the way from Lautoka, Nadi, Nadroga and Navosa,” Rabele said. The final 18 players will be named tomorrow.
