Manu Samoa prop Samuel Aiono flew into the country on Monday morning to replace injured Lester Sefo.

Samoa A coach Mailo Potu Leavasa also confirmed vice-captain/hooker Andrew Williams has been ruled out of today’s game against the Fijian Warriors in the third round of the World Rugby Pacific Challenge.

“Andrew Williams is out due to medical advice as he was injured during our game against Canada last Saturday.

“Sam Aiono have come in to replace Lester Sefo who was injured and flew back home on Monday night,” Leavasa said. Samoa A beat Canada A  19-17 in an important win last week.

“We made a lot of mistakes allowing Canada A to score two easy tries,” Leavasa said.

He said they had learned from their  mistakes were moving on for the future,

“All players’ are local players, only one overseas-based player Sam Aiono,”  he added.

The Samoans are calling on their supporters to turn up in numbers today and give their support.

“We have received a lot of support text messages from home and also the Samoa community in Fiji have been supporting us.”
