The Telecom Fijian Warriors takes on Argentina Pampas XV in the final of the World Rugby Pacific Challenge next Monday.

The Senirusi Seruvakula- coached side walloped their South Seas Rivals Samoa A 42-20 in the third round at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

Former Fiji Rugby Union development officer Franck Boivert said the Fijian Warriors contested well in the set pieces and were aggressive in the breakdown.

“They were outstanding in the contest for the ball,  did well in the scrums, lineouts and kickoff and dominated.

“Halfback Serupepeli Vularika and flyhalf Kini Douglas were just outstanding behind this forward domination,” he said.

The Frenchman said Samoa managed to established points through unforced errors from the hosts.

“Silly penalties from Fiji gave chances away to the Samoan. If Fiji cut those errors,  it would make them an excellent side. But overall they dominated possessions and phases.” Team captain Nemani Nagusa was impressed with the win and looks forward to Monday’s match against the Pampas.

“We are happy with the win, we came here with the mindset to win and we thank the God Almighty.

“We knew it will be a tough and physical game, Samoans were good and we just need to keep our cool, dominated set pieces and play the game,” Nagusa said.

“Next week will be a big final against Argentina and it will be tough but we need to recover well and come back ready for the Pampas,” he added.

Warriors coach Senirusi Seruvakula applauded the performance.

“We learnt that from our first game and we have been building up slowly from our first two games. And come the final the boys will be up for it,” Seruvakula said.
