Telecom Fijian coach Iliesa Tanivula departs for Australia tomorrow to scout for more players.

The team arrived yesterday after winning their second Bowl title during the World Rugby Women Sevens in Atlanta, USA over the weekend.

“Our target was to reach the Cup semifinals but we did miss out,” team manager Selita Koroi said.

“The next challenge now is to be in the top nine in the series. There will also be a Oceania qualifying round for the Rio Olympics in New Zealand and we hope to make the cut.”

She said the team would take a break before regrouping for the next stop of the World Rugby Women Sevens Series in Vancouver, Canada on April 18 – 19. The team are in Pool A with New Zealand, England and Spain.

Winger Roela Radiniyavuni will miss out in the next leg after being injured in the game against France.

The Fijiana are currently in 8th spot after three legs with 18 points.
