Natabua High School inducted 150 school prefects on Wednesday.

They were chosen as form captains, assistant form captains, hostel prefects, senior school prefects, hostel prefects and school deputies and heads.

Manisha Naidu, 18, is the headgirl. She is out to restore the school pride and discipline among students. She is from Tuvu, Lautoka.

“My aim is to bring a sense of unity in this school, equality among races and to ensure the school policy and rules are met,” Manisha said.

Her parents also attended the induction.

Headboy Siddiq Akif Koya of Namaka, Nadi, comes from a family of leaders and politicians.

“I am very proud and honoured to be given this privilege to make my parents proud so my followers can become better leaders,” Siddiq said.

“We are like a wall so they can climb over us and be better and their followers will be better than them.

“It’s a process where Natabua High School gets better each year and I am looking forward to it.

“Handling 1300 students is not an easy task, especially in co-ordinating the prefects. In Natabua’s case, it’s a very disciplined institution.

Principal Virendra Sharma has high expectations from the student council this year.

“It is mandatory for parents to support student’s responsibilities. I am proud and confident that the student council will deliver to the best of their ability,” he said.
