The Fiji-New Zealand Business Council will be expanding its presence in the Western division by decentralising towards division.

This comes as a good number of its 50 plus members are present in this region especially in the service industry such as tourism.

The council held its annual general meeting last night at the NZ High Commissioner’s Residence on Ratu Sukuna Road with the appointment and re-appointment of executive members.

Tourism contribution

As New Zealand was the second contributor in terms of tourist arrivals to Fiji, the council hopes to capture strongly this market to the West.

Outgoing president, Mark Hirst, who will be an executive member but will move to the West said it was an essential move.

Mr Hirst added that reaching to members and looking into their needs meant being where they were.

Goal

It fulfills the council’s goal in building and fostering trade more easily between the nation counterparts.

The new president is Craig Strong and executive team are: Renu Chand, Jackie Terry, Nigel Skeggs and Paul Evers..
