Saneem Rolls Out 2018 Plan

Part of the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) new strategic plan will involve proper documentation of the 2018 General Elections.

This was announced by the Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem on Monday at the FEO’s first strategic plan meeting.

The strategic plan is for the period of 2015 to 2019.

Stakeholders including the FEO staff and other key partners met to discuss the office’s first ever strategic plan.

Mr Saneem said they wanted to approach the next general election in a very tactful manner.

“We want to approach it in a very tactful manner, well documented and we also need to build good relationships with Parliament and all political parties as well as with representatives groups such as disability groups,” he said.

“Our intention is that the staff of the Fijian Election Office, our stakeholders and our partners should understand why we are doing things.”

“We want to build that level of capacity-building so that all stakeholders or affected parties know what they are supposed to do and why they are doing.”

The Elections Office also hopes to build good relationships with non-government organisations for the next election.

It also intends to have more capacity building training sessions for the media.
