Last night, daughter Livima Marama, was to undergo more surgery at the Lautoka Hospital.

Livima, 6, a Year One student of Gandhi Bhawan Primary School in Lautoka, became the latest road accident victim.

Ms Taba said: “At this moment, I am going through a hard time, I cannot figure it out.

“I hope she comes out through this ordeal.” The self-employed mother said she was waiting for her daughter in town after school on Wednesday.

“ I was waiting for her so that we  could go to her Sunday school rehearsal and to my surprise the Police officers came and relayed the sad news.

“I just ran for my life to be in the hospital. Two of her toes have been amputated.”

Police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said, “The student is alleged to have suddenly run across the road resulting in being bumped by the car driven by the 35-year-old man of Lautoka.

“Police are pleading to parents, teachers and guardians to advise their children on proper use of the road.
