Wyndham Denarau Marks 15th Anniversary

Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific Denarau Island has reached a significant milestone, celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.
The 5.5-hectare beachfront resort was the first in the Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific (formerly Trendwest) portfolio, for the use of Owners and guests of the WorldMark South Pacific Club.
The property was purchased in 1998 and opened for operation in March, 2000.
It has since grown to become one of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific’s most popular destinations, with the resort running at 90 per cent occupancy rates irrespective of season or climate.
More than 38,000 people chose the resort for their holidays in 2014.
President and managing director of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, Barry Robinson, said the 15-year anniversary was a significant achievement.
“We have spent the past 15 years making holiday dreams come true and it is exciting to be able to celebrate not one but two milestones, with WorldMark South Pacific Club also welcoming its 50,000th Owner this year,” he said.
“Consistent high occupancy rates are testament to the resort’s popularity and high level of service excellence.”
Redevelopment
In 2013, Wyndham Resort Denarau Island underwent a FJ$50 million redevelopment. This was with the addition of 63 spacious and luxurious styles of accommodations ranging from one and two-bedroom deluxe apartments to presidential villas with private plunge pools overlooking the ocean.
The resort employs 144 operational staff and another 104 work locally on sales and marketing.
Several dedicated staff have been with the company from the start and are also celebrating 15 years of service.
“It is the support and dedication of staff that make this resort such a success,” Mr Robinson said.
“We could not have reached this important milestone without their hard work and commitment to consistently providing excellent service.”
