Fiji Settles For Third Spot

The Vodaphone Fiji 7s team came from behind to take third spot in the Japan 7s tournament.

The Ben Ryan coached side beat Canada 21 – 19.

Fiji scored first from a blindside run by Jerry Tuwai.

Canada replied with a converted try.

At the break the team were tied at 7-7.

Canada scored first after the breather and lead 14 – 7. Another unconverted try to Canada had Fiji trailing 19 – 7.

With less than two minutes to full time, captain Osea Kolinisau took a a quick tap from a penalty and ran in for a try under the posts.

He quickly converted his own try. With seconds to go, Savenaca Rawaca combined well with Semi Kunatani to run in for the winning try.
