Report When Charged Incorrectly: Sayed-Khaiyum

Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has urged members of the public to report to the authorities if they have been charged incorrect prices for fuel and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG).

He made the comment while announcing the drop in fuel and LPG prices yesterday.

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said: “If any consumer goes to the shop and is changed a price that is coming into effect past midnight, then they must immediately notify the Commerce Commission.”

The Commerce Commission will conduct inspections to monitor price regulations.

Commerce Commission Chief Executive Officer Bobby Maharaj said: “We will have our inspectors on the field tomorrow morning and they will be moving around the country to see that prices have been reduced to what has been announced by the minister.”
