Vodafone Fijian 7s coach Ben Ryan acknowledges students of Suva Methodist Primary School for their support during the Hong Kong 7s tournament.

The team was invited to be part of the  ‘The Road Safety Cube’ launch in school yesterday with the partnership of Total Fiji Ltd and the Land Transport Authority of Fiji.

Ryan acknowledges the support and also gave his assurance the boys will do better in the next legs in Glasgow and London.

“We are here to talk about road safety. We are also here to meet you all and say thank you for your support, thank you for cheering us on, in Hong Kong,”Ryan said.

“I know you were here in Fiji watching in the television. I’m sorry the quarterfinal against England made your heart go a little bit too fast and the semifinal against South Africa. Next time we will do it a little bit better.

“We will go to Glasgow and London with an opportunity to win the World Series for the first time since 2006. We will give our all.

This new initiative Total Fiji, the Land Transport Authority and the Fiji Rugby Union take road safety awareness into schools.

“The road is a dangerous place, and you need to make a promise to me and I will make a promise to you that the boys will give everything they can in the next two tournaments. But you need to promise me that nobody does anything silly on the road in the future,” Ryan added.

The team had the opportunity to be teachers for the day as they went into classrooms and taught Year Five students about road safety rules.
