Lucky Escape For Two

Two people are lucky to have escaped major injuries after their rental car tumbled upside down at upper Mead Road, Nabua, Suva, yesterday morning.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said, “The incident occurred when a dog suddenly ran across the road causing the driver to swerve and the car hit the kerb before it tumbled upside down.”


She said investigations were still continuing and no serious injuries were sustained.
The two – a male driver and a female passenger – were rescued by by bystanders and taken to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital for treatment.


Pramesh Chand, a witness at the scene, said, “The car went off road hitting the first drain culvert and onto the second one, but ended up hitting a lamp post.
“The car spun in air and tumbled upside down.”
