Provincial Office Takes Agencies To Villages

The Nadroga Navosa Provincial Council Office is taking further steps to work with other Government departments to bring its service to the rural people.

The council’s senior assistant, Roko Tui Sakeasi Tawaketini, said the province was the only one in the country to submit over 90 per cent of the annual soli.

“The main purpose is to take the service down to the villagers and relay to them the same information that is usually relayed during the tikina council meetings but at times it does not filter in so this is another right time to create awareness,” Mr Tawaketini said.

“The province is the only one in the country that collects over 90 per cent of soli through the soli ni yasana so we need to take services right to their door steps.”

He said it was a provincial council office programme aimed at visiting all villages.

Last Wednesday the team visited Nakoro Village in the interior of Navosa with the joint Government team including the Department of Social Welfare, the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority and the District officers.

The team of officials has also visited Malevu, Korotogo and Vatukarasa, and will be visiting Naduri and Lawai later this week.
