The Vodafone Fijian Bati assistant coach Josaia Rabele is working on the three local-based players as they prepare for the Pacific test against Papua New Guinea in Gold Coast, Australia on May 2.

The local-based players are Tikiko Noke, Osea Sadrau and debutant Timoci Ratulolo.

“We were so blessed to have the services of NRL representative Steve Belsham who told us that Fijians are always weak in doing the ground work, which we are polishing up on,” Rabele said.

“The players’ have been positive in their preparation. We know  that PNG will be a hard team to beat and we are looking forward to a good match.”

Also yesterday, members of the Fiji Residents squad joined the training session as they prepare for the upcoming Vodafone Cup and the touring Country Rugby League clash in October followed by the NRL’s Prime Minister’s XIII test, which is set for September 25.
