Fiji Helps Singapore Prepare For SEA Games

The 14-member Singapore Netball team will utilise the Digicel/Punjas International Series for the South-East Asian (SEA) Games in June.

The Series starts in Suva tomorrow. The Fijian Pearls and the Papua New Guinea Pepes use the tournament as build-up for the 2015 Pacific Games at Port Moresby in July.

Simultaneously Netball Singapore coach and former Silver Ferns coach, Ruth Aitken will utilise the Suva Series for the South-east Asian (SEA) Games in June.

The Singapore team will be captained by Micky Lin, with Chen Huifen and Nurul Baizura as co-vice-captains.

“I know how much it means to have netball back in the SEA Games and for the team to be playing in front of our home crowd,” Aitken said.

“The hard work continues over the next two months to get that final team as best prepared as it possibly can be.

“This includes giving them important match practice so they are fit and ready to play at game tempo when they step on the court.”

Singapore: Micky Lin, Chen Huifen, Nurul Baizura, Ang Shiqi, Chen Li Li, Premila Hirubalan, Yasmin Ho, Shelby Koh, Pamela Liew, Kimberly Lim, Natalie Long, Charmaine Soh, Anna Soo, Shina Teo.
