‘Fijian Made’ Doing Well For Kurusiga

Many local business people are now finding it easier to sell their products overseas with the ‘Fijian Made’ brand attached to the product.

This is true for Lai Kurusiga who has been managing his own home-based family business for the past six years.

He usually brings out his products to sell at the RoC Market and other market days.

“Our business, Lapita Marketing Enterprise, promotes local products,” Mr Kurusiga said.

“We liaise with different villagers in the outer islands to help us get the products we want, we help them make cash, they can help us with our products.”

The 23-year-old said his long-term goal now was to sign a contract with a company that could help him to grow his business.

“We have managed to sell our products overseas and I believe in few years time we will be able to open our own shop and work with a local company to sell our products to a vast audience,” Mr Kurusiga said.

“We do not really need a university degree in order to start business,I graduated from the Nadave Vocational School few years ago and I believe, hardwork and motivation helps people to achieve better things in life.”
