Boost For Team Suva Grammar Athletes

The Suva Grammar School athletics squad received new uniforms courtesy of major sponsor Handy Finance in time for the 2015 Coca-Cola Games which starts today.

Team manager Sikeli Senibulu said the athletes were prepared to do their best.

“For us, it’s a special year because it coincides with the 55th Emerald Jubilee celebrations school so this is a special occasion for us,” Senibulu said.

“We call the ex-scholars, parents and supporters to come out in full force to the two days.

“This year we’re fielding a small team we’ve ever had to date but we’re moving with the motto that with God nothing is impossible.”

Handy Finance Director Josefa Gucake assured the athletes they would have the full backing of the sponsors.

“We do not know what will happen on the first day and we do not know what will happen on the second day but what we do know is that you will go out and do your best and we will support you fully.”

The athletes received new track uniforms as well as Tee-shirts and short. The Grammar Lions will be banking on senior boys 1500 metres Inia Sili and intermediate boys long and middle distance representative Farasiko Mualevu.

The 2015 Coca-Cola Games starts at 8.30am today with the march in of the competing schools led by the Natabua High School marching band.
