The Coca-Cola Games torch made its final journey from Nadi International Airport yesterday.

Votualevu College students Seini Vukivuki and Eliki Lagi handed the torch to Airports Fiji Limited chairman, Faiz Khan.

This torch was then relayed to Alison Watkins, Group Managing Director of Coca-Cola Amatil. Visiting Fiji for the first time, Watkins was amazed by the enthusiasm showed by the participants.

“Coca-Cola has been involved for 41 years and I’m just incredibly proud to see the level of enthusiasm that goes into the games,” Watkins said.

“We are very proud promoting students taking part in athletics,” she said.

Khan was honoured that Airports Fiji Limited was involved in the torch relay in Nadi.

“For us we believe that fundamentally people make places, people make a company and people make a country,” Khan said.

“The development of that comes from the youths and I believe that the Coca-Cola Games bring about the enthusiasm.

Coca-Cola Amatil sales manager Lawrence Tikaram said the students of Ratu Navula College and Votualevu College would escort the torch to the Coca-Cola Amatil factory in Suva.

“It is a very big event and we thank all the media for the participation and their support over the last couple of months,” Tikaram said.

“It has defiantly been an engaging and enlightening moment for all of us, we all have been inspired by the thousands of athletes who have prepared well for the games. We are sure the whole of Fiji will be watching and most importantly we want you to come out and support your students.”
