Ra High School aims to win medals at the 2015 Coca-Cola Games kicks off today at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Coach Viliame Tuitoga made the statement after their final training session yesterday.

“Ra High School will be looking to win medals this year after we didn’t win any last year,”Tuitoga said.

“We’re feeling more confident this year after winning the overall title in the Ra-Nadarivatu-Tavua Zone.

“We won the girl’s division, came second in the boys’ category and won the overall title, So that has definitely boosted of confidence that we can do better this year. We just want to return with something for the school.”

Tuitoga acknowledged that everyone had pitched in to help with the preparations of the 38-member squad. And while there had been challenges, teamwork and unity had brought them through.

“The school, teachers, parents and supporters pays for teachers, parents and supporters are providing the rest of the shoes.

“We actually had a two-weeks training camp to prepare the athletes for the games and the teachers provided breakfast, the school provided lunch and the parents provided dinner so it was a collective effort from everyone concerned.

“I’d like to thank the parents, teachers and supporters for their support throughout the preparations for this event and also to the Ra community for their support and we hope to see them come out to support the school during the two days.”

The 2015 Coca-Cola Games kicks off today at the ANZ Stadium and ends tomorrow.
