A senior boys’ long jump record was set in the 2015 Coca-Cola Games at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, yesterday.

Waisea Nasoko of Natabua High School recorded 7.20 metres beating the previous record of 7.16 set by Sireli Bulivorovoro of Suva Grammar School.

Nasoko could not contain his excitement.

“This is a huge achievement for me because I have worked so hard to beat the record and this is such a blessing,” he said.

“This has been a work in progress and I had a feeling that I would break the record because I know the amount of work I put in.”

Taking up jumping since Year Nine, Nasoko said this is a passion of his that has brought him nothing but joy.

“This is what I love doing and its nice to be rewarded for it because I’ve been doing it for a long time,” Nasoko said.

“And I’m just happy I can win one back for the school I love.

“I want to thank the Lord for blessing me with this talent and also the Natabua family and ex scholars, this one is for you.”
