Tebara Carnival Revived

Good news for Nausori residents, businesses and people of Tailevu, Naitasiri and Rewa.

Talks are underway to revive the Tebara Carnival which phased out 13 years ago.

The Nausori Crime Prevention and Beautification Association (NCPBA) which was formed earlier this month have decided to bring the carnival back after a lapse of 13 years.

Association general secretary Deo Raj Lal said the carnival would be bigger and better.

“Tebara Carnival shall be a one week carnival starting in the last week of July this year,” Mr Lal said.

It will be at Syria Park – under the old Rewa Bridge.

“The winner, Miss Tebara, will contest the Miss Fiji Pageant.

“The committee has received support from big corporate players who feel that the time is right to liven up activities in Nausori.”

Carnival committee members are planning to host a number of activities during the carnival including Fijian Made products show and displays, evening entertainment including cultural, dances and concerts.

The launching of queens for the Carnival is planned for June.
