Scouts Attend 7s Trials

The Tokatoka Westfield Dragons Rugby Club will host 7s trials today and tomorrow.

The trials will be at the Airport Fiji Limited grounds today and at the University of the South Pacific in Suva tomorrow.

The trials will be for the Under-20 players in the Western Division.

Scouts from New Zealand and France agents will attend the trials.

Tokatoka Westfield Dragon Rugby Club president Ponijese Raiyasi said in the past rugby clubs fundraise to tour overseas.

“This was for the international exposure of their players with the aim of securing overseas contracts,” he said.

“Tokatoka Westfield Dragons is inviting rugby agents from New Zealand and France to come to Fiji.

“They will be attending our rugby 7s trials creating opportunities for potential rugby players to pursue their rugby career abroad.

Dragons coach Epeli Lagiloa said it would be easier if the teams brought in their squads for the trials.

All interested players to bring in their birth certificates in order to register for the trials.
