Tiffany Golf Tourney All Set For West

Top golfers from around the country are expected to tee-off at the Tiffany’s sponsored tournament at the Lautoka Golf Club on Saturday.

Organiser Mahendra Gopal said they were excited about hosting the Lautoka season’s opening.

“We are expecting a high turnout and the course is in excellent condition,” he said.

“The Canada –based company sponsored numerous golf tournaments in Fiji and recently hosted a Prime Minister Flood Relief Fund in Nadi.”

Gopal is the owner of the Tiffany’s Store which was established in 1993 after the birth of his daughter Tiffany.

“My older brother Daven Gopal won the gold medal for Fiji al in 1995 Pacific Games,” he said.

“Our families are very much involved in golf in Fiji and overseas.”

Gopal was born and raised in Top Line, Lautoka and ex-student of Ba Provincial Free Bird Institute.

“The season opening is very important to me and my family because this is in memory of my father who died away last year.”

He said there would be excellent prizes for all grades. Prizes include Cleveland driver, Taylor made ghost putter, Pro V golf balls, DVD player and more.

“We thank Shalendra Prasad, former president of Lautoka Football FA, who is helping in running the tournament.”

 

Upcoming tournaments

The Srixon Cleveland Two Person Ambrose event will be played at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course on Sunday.

Entry for non members is $260 per team and $180 for members. Contact golf@natadolabay.com or 999 3938.

The Gecko’s Trucking Natadola Bay Pro- Am 2015 at Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course on June 8. Entry for members is $80, professionals $90 and amateurs $130.
