Vodafone Fijian 7s head coach Ben Ryan has taken the lead to Scotland to prepare in advance for the 2015 Glasgow 7s next weekend.

Ryan confirmed via his Twitter account on Wednesday that he had left for the second last leg of the World Rugby Sevens World Series.

“Whisked into the flight effortlessly – Vinaka,” he said in his Tweet.

With only two legs left to the end of the 2014-2015 series and the stakes even higher to earn one of the top four automatic spots to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics, Fiji will need to make the most of this last chance to qualify.

New Zealand are the defending champion of the Glasgow and London 7s tournaments.

Meanwhile, the Vodafone Fijian 7s squad paid a courtesy call on the British High Commission in Suva yesterday.

Team manager Ropate Kauvesi said the visit was to thank the British Embassy.

“We came to thank them for our visas,” Kauvesi said.

“We met the deputy High Commissioner, Dan Salter. This is courtesy call ahead of our departure for Glasgow and London.”

The team departs for the 2015 Glasgow 7s and London 7s tomorrow.

The Glasgow 7s will be held on May 9-10 and the London 7s on May 16-17.
