Nadi special administrator Robin Ali has confirmed that the Nadi Town Council is expanding.

“I am pleased to announce that the Nadi Town Council is expanding.

“It has an area of 720 hectares, but now we are planning to increase it to 1500 hectares,” Mr Ali said.

He said the recent developments in Nadi in regards to the Nadi International Airport and the four-lane highway had placed immense pressure for the council to expand.

“Nadi Airport is expanding together with all the other associated infrastructures and this has put a lot of pressure on Nadi Town Council to expand,” he said.

“Don’t be surprised that all the land after Tokatoka Resort towards Waimalika has been occupied by big businesses and developments will come there.”

He said developments would bring more employments.

“Nadi Town Council will be behind the opening of any new business because that will bring more employment,” he said.

“Government has started work with the town planning team to allow fast-tracking for the approval for plans.

“It takes a while for the law to be changed, but Government has shown its commitment,” he said.
