Baklai Temengil Chilton is looking forward to meet International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach today.

The Palau’s Minister of Sport aims to seek assistance from the IOC.

Chilton said it was a perfect opportunity to discuss with the Bach the major issues facing the youths, of not only Palau, but of the Oceania region.

“The president of the IOC is very important for us in Oceania because we are so far away,”she said.

“It’s always a benefit, not only for Palau, but for the whole of Oceania to have the highest chair of the IOC here in Fiji with us. So this is a perfect opportunity for us to present our case and let him know our plight.
