Sereana Dawai wants  her son Kitione Dawai to make his mark at the World  Sevens Series in Glasgow and London this weekend.

Sereana, Vatili Dawai and relatives were at the Nadi International Airport yesterday to farewell the team.

“It was a happy moment for our family when he was named in the team,” an emotional Sereana said.

“I had struggled to pay his school fees along with his other siblings and I’m reaping the reward.

“We just cannot wait to see him play in that Fijian jumper. Our blessing is with the team and hope the country will pray for them and support them too.”

Fiji is pooled alongside Scotland, Wales and Portugal and team captain Osea Kolinisau said they were looking forward to the competition.

“Scotland is playing at home, Wales is a team to beat during match day, with Portugal’s recent great performances, which we won’t take lightly,” he said.

“We are closer to winning the second World Rugby Sevens Series.”
