Defending champions Jacks/Chicken Express Nadi started their 2015 Vodafone Fiji FACT campaign on a high note at Govind Park in Ba yesterday.
What happened:
The return of Nadi midfielder Munit Krishna contributed to their convincing win yesterday.
But the team need to make use of opportunities after striker Semesa Muadonu missed a lot of clear chances at goal.
Half time: Nadi 0 – Nadroga 0.
In the 55th minute Vikrant Chandra was fouled near the box and Munit Krishna free kick sailed over the wall and over the hands of goalie Ben Rokobavu.
In the 58th minute Drudru broke through the defence and rifled a shot past Rokodavu for Nadi to lead 2-0.
In the 62nd minute Munit Krishna curled a free kick over the wall and was headed by Nadroga striker Anish Khem.
In the 85th minute Vikrant Chandra sealed the win.
Big play: Munit Krishna organised play well for Nadi from midfield.
Star turn: Nadroga striker Anish Khem played well.
Comments:
Nadi coach Kamal Swamy said; “We played according to the game plan and Nadroga was tough to play in the first spell. We are the defending champions and we need to stay calm under pressure.”
Nadroga co-coach Ramesh Sharma said, “It was a good game but we missed our chances. Nadi took their chances and they win and we have to blame ourselves. The boys did well in the first half but Nadi came back firing.”
