No Drama At FNPF, Says Chair

Fiji National Provident Fund chairman, Ajith Kodagoda, says there is no drama going on at the fund and operations continues as normal.

These comments come in light of the resignation by fund chief executive, Aisake Taito.

Mr Taito resigned from the fund after being at the helm of leadership for seven years which during which time the fund has taken to take some hard decision to remain sustainable.

Mr Kodagoda confirmed there will be no acting chief executive and they will go through the normal process of recruitment like any other company.

The position might be advertised in four to six weeks and Mr Kodagoda said there was no rush.

“The senior managers are very capable of managing the day-to-day affairs of the fund,” he said.

“Change is a fact of life, we all need to move on in life. Mr Taito has decided after a stressful seven years, it’s time to look for alternatives.

“Also spend more time with his family and get more experience in some other area of work.

“We respect his decision, and thank him profoundly for seeing through probably the toughest time ever for FNPF and its staff.”
