Late Suliano Will Be Buried On Saturday

The late Lieutenant-Colonel Amani Duiguci Suliano will be accorded a full military funeral on Saturday at his village – Nayavu, Wainibuka in Tailevu, on Saturday.

This was confirmed yesterday by the Land Force Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Colonel Sitiveni Qiliho.

“We have liaised with Colonel Suliano’s next of kin and we have crystallised funeral details. The funeral will be held on Saturday at his village in Nayavu at 10am,” Colonel Qiliho said.

“Definitely, he will be accorded a full military funeral.”

The late officer is expected to be farewelled by Government officials, the RFMF family, friends and families.

He died at the age of 51 last week in China while studying at the Chinese War College in Beijing.

During his years in the military, Lieutenant-Colonel Suliano was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal, a Republic of Fiji Medal, a General Service Medal and four peacekeeping medals for serving in Lebanon, Sinai, East Timor and Iraq.

He was also a former spokesman for the RFMF. Lieutenant-Colonel Suliano is survived by his wife Lia and their six children.
