New York Interest On Fijian Girls

The Jejemon Project has caught the attention of a New York-based fashion company, One Management.

The director of model scouting at One Management in New York, Lanny Zenga, has expressed interest in signing up the winner of Project Jejemon Model of the Year.

“I am interested in working with the model of the year. I am constantly looking for new and fresh faces. I would love to sign up a model to our agency from Fiji provided they meet with our criteria and is what the international market is after,” Zenga said in a statement from New York.

Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) producer and Jejemon producer, Andhy Blake, said Fijian models had seen success on the international arena.

“I had the opportunity of working with Kerry Doyle in 2006 at the New Zealand Fashion Week and was proud to see another Fijian shining on the international stage of fashion. She was always so effortless and chic every time she appeared on the runway for designers that year” Mr Blake said.

Project Jejemon Model of the Year will win a return flight to Wellington, New Zealand, with Fiji Airways, a $500 cash award, meet a prominent model agency while in Wellington, a nine-page editorial spread in Mai Life Style Magazine and will become the face of an international campaign with Vai Wai water.

Castings will take place on May 23 at 4pm at the FBC Broadcasting House, 69 Gladstone Road in Suva.
