Aerotown Robbery Suspects On Remand

Two suspects Jonetani Tawake and Jimilai Tawakedrau Drase appeared at the High Court yesterday on aggravated robbery charges.

Appearing before Justice Thusara Rajasinghe, Tawake, 45 and Drase, 29, faced charges related to robberies in the Western Division.

Both have been remanded in custody until the 19th of this month and their case has been transferred to the magistrates court in Nadi.

The court heard on April 27 this year the accused allegedly robbed Setareki Saukuru of his mobile phone valued at $59.

The accused allegedly robbed Setareki Saukuru of two vehicle keys valued $30, $150 and two vehicles (LR 1545 and FI 865) both valued $25,000 all to a total value of $25,180 – the property of True Blue Rental Car, Nadi.

Both the suspects were also involved in the Aerotown Mobil Service Station robbery at 3.15am, April 27 this year.

Apparently Tawake was left out when the others drove off in the stolen vehicle when police arrived at the scene.

Another suspect Tupou Vuetaki will appear at the High Court in Lautoka on May 20.
