Better Fiji, Kiwi Ties On The Cards

Fiji and neighbours New Zealand are set to engage in more talks to improving our bilateral ties.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, will be in Auckland, New Zealand, to hold high level talks with his counterpart, Murry McCully, tomorrow.

This will be the second such Foreign Ministers Consultation following the first talks last year in Nadi.

The two foreign ministers are expected to further strengthen bilateral relations during this meet.

Development and defence co-operation, recognised seasonal employment update, climate change, and Post-2015 Development Agenda among others are some of the important issues that will be discussed during this consultation.

A statement yesterday from Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that while on this visit, Ratu Inoke will also have the chance to celebrate the 136th Anniversary of Girmit with the Fijian community in New Zealand.

Ratu Inoke will be the chief guest at the Fiji Girmit Remembrance Day at Skipton Hall in Mangere, Auckland, on Sunday.

Ratu Inoke is looking forward to a successful consultation with Mr McCully and a pleasant recollection on Fiji Girmit Remembrance Day with the Fijian community.
