Execute Right Decisions, Referees Told

Referees and touch judges of the Vodafone Cup’s Top 8 competition should not be intimidated by the crowd but execute the right decisions on the field, says a veteran coach.

Dee Cees Nadera Panthers coach Vula Dakuitoga said this is a must as the Top 8 is the cream of the Vodafone Cup competition.

“We need referees that are well-versed with the rugby league laws and like any other human being there are things that happen in the field that they don’t see  but that is where the touch judges come in to assist,” the former Fiji Bati first-five said.

Dakuitoga said the Panthers are preparing well for their clash against Sabeto Roosters at the St Mary’s Ground in Martintar tomorrow afternoon.

“We had a good start against Kinoya Sea Eagles last week but that’s done and gone as we shift our focus to the Roosters who are also former Vodafone Cup holders.”

He indicated that they are coming in to Nadi expecting a tough tussle from the hosts as they would be playing in front of their home crowd.

“The boys have been training hard and looking forward to taking on the Roosters.”

Dakuitoga added they are grateful to their major sponsor Dee Cees along with minor sponsors Tau Sports and Sports World for their support.

The clash kicks-off at 1.45pm and admission is $1 (flat)
