The former Beachside Resort on Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi will be opened on June 8 after a new owner undertook its refurbishment the past year.

Oasis Palms Hotel is owned by hotelier Nicholas Wood who owns three other properties here.

These are Octopus Resort in Lautoka, Blue Lagoon Beach Resort and Paradise Cove Resort both in the Yasawa Group.

He explained the need to open their own resort in Nadi was for transiting purposes to their sister hotels.

“We have three hotels in the Yasawas and many of our guests require a hotel for overnight before and after their island stay. This is the main reason we purchased the hotel.”

Mr Wood said the name change was necessary as it suited the layout and new design of the hotel.

“There are many changes from the past hotel, specifically in amenities,” Mr Wood said.

The hotel can cater for different budget ranges from budget accommodation to the high end accommodation.

“There are many people who want to holiday in Fiji and are on more of a budget, or have a time constrain in terms of riding ferries out to the island.”

Mr Wood did not wish to disclose investment amount but he did highlight that a significant amount was spent.

The hotel has 29 rooms. There are two pools and a hot tub. The Mamasake, a Californian Sushi Asian Tapas restaurant will open on June 1.

“We will offer air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, complimentary airport transfers, and free pickup and drop off for dinner guest from Denarau, Nadi hotels for groups of four4 or more, we will also have an online ordering option for delivery to hotels for Sushi.”

The hotel is just past the Club Fiji Resort.  Once opened Oasis Hotel will provide at least 55 full-time jobs. Before renovation there were just four employees.
