The Then India Sanmarga Ikya Sangam (TISI) will have its annual pooja from the 28 of this month to June 7 at Shri Venkateshwara Devastanam Temple in Labasa.  This is to celebrate the 2015 Brahmotsavam Thirunaal (the colourful and Holy Festival/Mela) for 10 days.

Vice-president for Tuatua/Wailevu Kamlesh Reddy said the pooja would start on Friday, May 29, where the Hawan (residing prayers in the fire) and Pujali Dhwanjaaroham (offerings) will be performed.

“This will continue at night with other samkaras (rituals) would also take place at the temple,” Mr Reddy said.

He said devotees who wished to participate in Hawan are required to abstain from non–vegetarian food, intoxicants and sinful activities and are encouraged to continue this discipline to purify their lives.  Meanwhile, the week-long pooja will end with devotees carting Lord Venkateshwara and wife Mata Laxmi around Labasa town and this will end with a big feast at the temple.
