The Fiji Institute of Accountants President, Renu Chand, says the 2014 National Elections, restoring parliamentary democracy, has opened up new and exciting opportunities for attraction.

She noted these attractions would include tourists, investment, development support and foreign exchange earnings.

These comments were made yesterday as Ms Chand opened the 2015 Fiji Institute of Accountants Congress at the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort on Yanuca Island.

Opportunity optimisation

Ms Chand shared: “We are all geared in our own way to optimise on these opportunities as we take our beautiful country to greater heights.

“The theme and the topics we have put in the programme would no doubt dwell on some of those opportunities, thereby enabling meaningful and worthwhile exchange of information and views for all our benefit.”

The delegates in attendance included representatives from Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and CPA Australia.

Ms Chand said their attendance symbolised their interest and support for what gets discussed on topical subjects such as opportunities for growth, ease of doing business and working together towards a better Fiji.
