Vatukoula Rugby Union received a big boost from major sponsors Pacific Energy at Theodore Park in Vatukoula yesterday.

The Union received $10,000, equipment, training kits prior to the 2015 Fiji Rugby Union provincial rugby competition kick-off on Saturday. Pacific Energy South West Pacific Limited sales and marketing manager Rajnesh Prasad said the corporate sponsorship aimed to help the  community after their five-year corporate deal with Vatukoula Gold Mine

“This is a partnership and we need to invest as we see community as our family,” he said.

“I challenge the players to fulfil their rugby careers as we are acting as catalyst. But the onus lies  in the players, administrators and the supporters as a whole.”  VRU president Semesa Lewai thanked the sponsors for coming on board this season.

“We would like to thank Pacific Energy’s for its continued involvement in sports sponsorship, partnering with Vatukoula Rugby Union (VRU) in development rugby and the community,” Lewai said.

Pacific Energy Vatukoula plays Northland on Saturday at 3pm.
