One of the challenges the Fiji Rugby Union is facing is retaining players.

Fiji Rugby Union chief executive, Radrodro Tabualevu, said the union is basically looking for funds to fund salaries so that they can keep players here.

But what assists and helps them get through the challenge is when the team wins.

“We can then market them and people will be more willing to come forth and support,” he said.

Mr Tabualevu made these comments yesterday as he addressed the Fiji Institute of Accountants Congress 2015 at the Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort on Yanuca Island.

“We have got to win and believe in ourselves,” that was his message.

“We want to be an example – that if we set our plans and compete like we are doing as world’s best – we can as people in Fiji.”
