Fiji To Face Aussies In Semis, Outstanding Defence Against South Africa, Says Ryan

Vodafone Fijian Rugby 7s coach Ben Ryan told the Fiji 7s side at half-time that their defence was “spot-on”.

He said their performance  against South Africa in the cup quarter-final was “outstanding” and that they were “7 minutes away from creating something very special.”

Savenaca Rawaca and Osea Kolinisau ran in a try each in the first half. Rawaca crossed the South African try-line from a turn over ball in Fiji’s own 22 metre line. The try was unconverted.

At half time, Fiji led 12 – 0.

Chris Dry ran in the first try for South Africa after the breather. The converted try was from an intercepted pass from Nasilasila.

Rawaca again showed his speed and prowess when he ran in Fiji’s second try.

Fiji will now face Australia in the first cup semi-final. Australia beat Scotland 31 -19.
