The Fair Trade Makoi Bulldogs scored their first win  in the Vodafone Cup competition yesterday.

This was they beat the Pack Leader Nabua Broncos 22-18 in the second round at Albert Park in Suva.

Team manager Apolosi Dausiga congratulated the boys for the hard work.

“I am so happy with how the boys performed,”Dausiga said.

“They did exactly what they have been told and they really played well.

“Nabua gave us a good competition but the boys were determined to win the match.

“The inclusion of Osea Uluinaceva, Epeli Ralulu and Suliasi Talakai really boosted the boys.”

But Dausiga wasn’t happy with the standard of refereeing.

“The third official or the match commissioner really needs to see on how the referees perform as they need to be neutral and be professional.

“There were some dangerous tackles but actions were not taken,” he said.

“We would want to maintain this performance and we hope for better results in the next game.
