Fijian Pearls mid-court player Losalini Tuifagalele will be make her debut at the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea in July.

She is part of the final 12-member squad, which was announced last Friday.

Though it was a shock for her at first when she found out she was chosen to represent her country, Tuifagalele said she would do her best to prove her worth in the team.

“This is my first Pacific Games and I am so excited,” she said.

This especially after I thought I would not make the team because I wasn’t feeling too well at the trials.

“My main aim now is to prove to Coach Kate Carpenter and the selectors that they did not make the wrong decision.

“As difficult as it is to get on this Fijian Pearls team, being here means they saw something in me. And I want to prove my worth to them and prove that I’ve what it takes to be in the national team.

“Now that I’m chosen, I plan on working more constantly to improve my fitness and just concentrating on doing my part in the team.

“We all have our different roles to play in the team and that is what we need to focus on, getting the job done on the court.”

While her short-term goals is preparing for the Pacific Games, Tuifagalele said her long term goal was the Netball World Cup in Sydney, Australia in August.

“The NWC is my main aim and I want to be a part of the campaign to Sydney,” she said.

“Being chosen for the Pacific Games puts me in arms reach of my dream and it will be a perfect place to show what I am made of and just hope for the best.”
