One million dollars ($1m) has been allocated for the Seaqaqa township plans.

This was confirmed by Divisional Planning Officer (DPO) North, Alipate Bolalevu during the first round of the Provincial Development Meeting (PDM) in Labasa yesterday.

“The plans include proper public convenience, bus stand and improving the market area for the rural people of Seaqaqa,” Mr Bolalevu said.

“We are working very closely with the Town and Country Planning Department on this project.”

Meanwhile, the total allocation of $2m was allocated the township project for Nabouwalu and Seaqaqa.

Board member Peni Donu welcomed the decision.

“The people of Bua and Seaqaqa are looking forward to the new towns because it will boost the economy in the two districts,” Mr Donu said.
