Veteran Australia-based musician and solo artist George Knight is a happy man because he has been able to channel what he loves doing to the extent that his sons and grandsons have developed a love for music.

He is happy, too, that they are following in his footsteps.

This was very evident last night at the Royal Suva Yacht Club when Mr Knight joined his son, Mansus’, Takia Band alongside his grandson and DJ Mansus Junior.

The Australia-based band is in the country for a series of concerts. Mr Knight said he never once thought some of his children would follow in his footsteps.

“It’s a complete feeling. I just cannot describe it because he has taken after me and I was hoping some of my sons would just at least love music which they did. But the rest of them did not take it full time like they did. He’s been performing quite a while.

“I’m very proud of them; I do not know what words I could use to describe it.”

DJ Mansus Junior has just been a disc jockey for the past 18 months.  Mr Knight said most of his family members, including his father, were musicians.

“He was a folk singer who uses the ukulele a lot. We now know where we got this talent from, it’s from our dad,” he said.

His son Mansus Snr said performing alongside his father and son was like a dream come true.

Meanwhile, DJ Mansus Jnr said it was an honour performing beside his father here in Fiji.

The  band and Mr Knight will be in Savusavu, Labasa this week.
