Police are investigating the discovery of a dead man found floating in a river near Natua Village at Wailevu, Cakaudrove in Vanua Levu.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, has been identified and his relatives have been notified of his death.
Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said investigations were still ongoing while the dead man has been kept at the Savusavu Hospital mortuary.
“A group of men found the body believed to be 30 years old floating in the river close to the village on Saturday afternoon,” Inspector Sokomuri said.
“There were some injuries visible on his face, but we will await the post-mortem examination results to determine the cause of the injuries and death.”
